What are plant based hair colours?
Plant-based hair colours are hair dyes made from natural ingredients derived from plants, such as herbs, flowers and fruits. Unlike conventional hair dyes, which contain synthetic chemicals such as ammonia, parabens, phthalates and other harsh ingredients, plant-based hair colours only use botanical extracts to provide colour while also conditioning the scalp and nourishing the roots.

 

How long does the colour last with plant-based hair dyes?
All our hair colours are made from gentle plant ingredients and are semi-permanent and will naturally wash away over time. The colour will last anywhere from 3-4 weeks depending on the frequency of hair wash, and how fast your roots grow out :)

 

Can I apply this on my own or do I need to go to the hairdresser?
You can absolutely colour your own hair at home. A pair of gloves and a hair cap are included in every box.

 

How long should I leave the hair colour on to achieve good colour results?
Once you apply the hair mask/paste to your hair, leave it on for a good 2.5 to 3 hours. This will ensure good absorption of the natural colours. Wash it with a mild shampoo.

What are henna and indigo, and why should I use these for my hair colour?
Henna and indigo are natural plant-based dyes that have been used for centuries to colour hair. They are safer alternatives to synthetic hair dyes because they offer a range of colours and help nourish the hair and scalp. Henna is derived from the leaves of the Lawsonia inermis plant. It imparts a reddish, copper, or auburn hue to the hair. The intensity of the red tone can vary depending on the natural hair colour and the duration of the application. Indigo is extracted from the leaves of the Indigofera tinctoria plant. It provides a deep blue dye, often used in combination with henna to achieve darker shades like brown or black.

We recommend you do a patch test before application.

 

I have been using chemical based / strong hair dyes for a long time now. How can I switch to using your plant-based hair colour range? 
Plant-based dyes like henna and indigo work differently from chemical dyes. They coat the hair shaft rather than penetrating it, which can result in a more natural, subtle colour variation. It can take 2-3 applications to achieve a desired colour, especially when transitioning from synthetic to natural hair colour.

 

What makes goodFarm’s high pasta different?
goodFarm’s pasta range is carefully created high protein pasta, specifically formulated to contain a higher amount of protein than traditional wheat pasta. This increased protein content comes from plant-based legumes. We do not add any stabilisers or protein isolates in our pastas. They are natural and organic – just as nature intended.

No, our Ayurvedic products are made from pure, natural ingredients. They do not contain any additives or preservatives.

 

Can I use Ayurvedic products during pregnancy or while nursing?
We always recommend consulting with a healthcare professional before using Ayurvedic products during pregnancy or while nursing.

 

When will my order be shipped out?
For orders received before 11am, we aim to ship out all orders the same working day. For all other orders, the shipping time is 1 working day.

How can I return my order for a refund?
If you have changed your mind and would like to return any item, please drop us a line on info@spice-root.com with your order number and we will process your return request. We request all items be returned in their original, sealed and unused condition.
